Soidin tanssi
Valojänikset (Lux Lepus) hankaavat itseään valoa tuottaviin sieniin ja alkavat myös itse hehkumaan. Tällöin on aika suorittaa soidin tanssi. Soidin tanssi kestää muutaman tunnin alkaen iltahämärästä pimeään yöhön. Tanssi päättyy usein paritteluun pimeässä vilkkuvilla valoefekteillä.
Aluksi useampi koiras suorittaa yhteisen valo koreografian naaraiden houkuttelemiseksi paikalle. Yhteisen ja varsin vauhdikkaan esityksen aikana koiraat suorittavat sooloesityksiä. Valtavia hyppyjä, valokaaria ja jopa liikkeitä joilla muodostuu strobomaisia efektejä on havaittu. Kovin organisoituja jänikset eivät ole. Soolo esiintymisissä on toisinaan päällekkäisyyttä ja selkeää haastamista. Tappeluilta ei vältytä.
Yleensä tavallisen jäniksen tiineys kestää reilun kuukauden. Tällä itseään sieniin hankaavalla valojänis lajilla kiima-aika on suunnilleen samaan aikaan kuin hirvieläimillä, eli syksyllä. Samoin tiineys kestää saman ajan kuin suurilla istukkanisäkkäillä. Poikaset noin 3 kappaletta syntyvät keväällä. Poikaset syntyvät silmät auki ja osaat piiloutua ruohikkoon heti synnyttyään.
On huomattu että toisinaan vanhemmat naaraat hankaavat itseään sieniin ja osallistuvat tanssiin tehden itsestään haluttuja myös joidenkin koiraiden keskuudessa. Tällöin tanssissa kaikki kilpailevat keskenään ja toisistaan. Naaraiden ollessa koiraita suurempia. Ne yleensä voittavat myös tappelut.

Usually, a hare is pregnant a bit more than a month. With this self-rubbing light hare species, the mating season is about the same time as with deer, i.e. autumn. Similarly, pregnancy lasts the same period as in large placental mammals. Cups about 3 pieces are born in the spring. The cups are born with their eyes open and you know how to hide in the grass as soon as you are born.
It has been observed that sometimes older females rub themselves into mushrooms and participate in the dance, making themselves desirable among some males as well. In this case, in dance, everyone competes with each other and with each other. When females are larger than males. They usually also win fights.
